Die Abstandhalter werden einfach zwischen die Terrassenbretter gesteckt, so ist der gewünschte Abstand bei der Montage vorgegeben. Es sind 3 Abstände möglich (3 mm, 5 mm, 7 mm). Die Farbgebung der Abstandhalter verhindert ein Verwechseln bei der Terrassenmontage. Die Form der Abstandhalter verhindert, dass sie zwischen den Brettern in den Fugenspalt fallen können.
