- Application recommendation: Reducing the contact pressure and peripheral speed and adding grinding oil reduces tool wear and the temperature load on the workpiece. An increase in stock removal rate should be achieved by using a coarser grit and not by increasing the contact pressure in order to prevent unnecessary tool wear and thermal stress on the workpiece. Increasing the cutting speed results in a slightly finer surface finish. Increasing the contact pressure results in a slightly coarser surface.
